Intellectual
Bankruptcy

The meaning of scholars
is to provide the best ways and ideas to the public so that they would be the
follower of them; or that would enhance the society in the future. Scholars must
be able to guide the society and the nation to the right path. Unfortunately, the
knowledge which the scholars have got is useless in our society.
We can find the counter
culture in our society so people have been fighting one another of being
competent or to prove their supremacy. Besides they aren’t ready to accept
others’ ideas though it may be valuable. Hence, they have been losing their
faith due to bankruptcy. The ideas are pertaining to both sides of the
politicians and the scholars. The scholars don’t accept the existence of the politicians
neither the politicians to the scholars. We can find conflict between and among
them. Thus the country is in the whirlwind of criticisms and confusions.
The scholars have also
full of prejudice due to political inclination that their ideas should be
respected or the philosophy what they have shared should be fully implemented. On
the other hand, the politicians, who are the player of dirty game, would like
to influence the scholars. So the ideas of them always contradict with the
scholars and the country is facing the problem. The culture of inclusive and
precise decision making hasn’t been developed in our country yet. Every side
tries to influence the decision. They think that their hand should always be up
rather than the opponent. They can’t consent for the maximum benefit of the
country.
It happens due to the little
knowledge what they have got. Little knowledge is always dangerous. The tussle
between the communist and the capitalist is much interesting in this matter. They
have been guided with the philosophy of political leaders to secure only their future.
So the division of scholars is tragic; the country can’t take benefit from them;
and it is useless. Rather than advising the leaders scholars have run after the
petty benefit of their family. They scholars have also been guided with the
leaders in this matter that they have been thinking for their family rather
than the society or the nation. So their knowledge is private only. Despite the
philosophy of knowledge economy, the scholars have kept their knowledge and
ideas secret, private and useless.
So we have found
intellectual bankruptcy in the Nepalese context. On the other hand, our culture
has been shaped accordingly as we have few literate people in the past. So the development
of education should be the first and foremost priority in our country. If the
society hasn’t been educated, we can’t get maximum benefit from the people. So the
context should be changed or the scholars should be put ahead and they should
have been guided with fairness.
