Women Friend

Last time I was going to college from Swoyambhu. It was raining and there was no sign of sunny day. I had walked from home to college without umbrella. I couldn’t return back as I reached far from home. If I returned back, it would be late to reach to college so I decided to go anyway. I could take vehicle till the stop, and then I had to walk to the college till 10 minutes.

While walking on the way I had stopped to several stops taking shelter in each steps. Sometimes I had to stop because of heavy rain. Anyway I had been managing but I had hardly crossed some distance of 2 minutes. I got wet and thought that it would be better to ask help with some persons. I had been looking for male who had got umbrella. However, I couldn’t get any person who had got umbrella. I had seen only the girls and women walking with umbrella.

I thought to ask support of them but I couldn’t decide it as I had remembered the essay written by Shyam Prasad Sharma. His essay’s topic was “Woman Friend”. According to the plot there was a woman who had also been walking in the rain with the umbrella and the writer had also wanted to take help with her. He couldn’t do that like me.

It made me think once about the relation between male and female. In the 21^st century also we can’t make our society equal. We have problem to speak with women and so on. We don’t have coordination and there is distinction between man and woman. Our mind is shaped with our traditional belief.

While talking it, I remember that one of the college student raised question to me. He stated that the girls who wear half pants were thought to be odd. He asked if boys wear half pants were common and the girls were odd. Or out society would rate them as ill-natured girls. His argument also made me realized that we are far back though we have been running in the 21^st century.

If we don’t have consciousness, we can’t progress in our life. To be changed from traditional norms and values, we need education. As our society is not well educated we have faced such kinds of problem. We can’t get friends in need as well. We have been guided with our narrow conscience so we find differences between boys and girls; men and women; upper caste and lower caste; rich and poor and so on.

Only in uneducated society we have found such problem due to the lack of conscience. The society is the combination of all sectors of people either gender, class, caste and so on. So we should have conscience to accept all sorts of people under one umbrella. We should have formed such behavior which is acceptable to all. We have been performing barbaric nature from the above two examples.

The barbaric society has only divided people by caste, class, and gender. From the division, they would influence the rule of the society. Thus it helped in social reproduction system which is the idiomatic factor to stop the progression of the society. We should believe on social production system so that change is possible in our society. We have been running with the reproduction system so that we have been far behind in course of social development.
