Nature of Students

Student nature is full of cheating, deceiving, lazing, and deferring and so on. By nature they have the habit of deceiving their teachers. Sometimes they even play truant from the school. They have dealt with teachers with different behaviors and attitudes from time to as the teacher has been with them all the time. They try to defer everything what doesn’t interest them. Mostly they have taken homework, classwork, and reading as burden.
The problem here I want to evaluate from homework, classwork and reading perspective. I have checked their homework regularly and suggest them to do this and that if they have got any problem while doing homework. What I have suggested would be checked next day with much caution. Sometimes I have known that they don’t have homework by their face; and sometimes I have checked it deliberately. Almost I have the habit of checking their homework regularly.
Today I have checked homework of three students; among them two of them are sincere and one of them is a great cheater. He has made many pretentions but I never excuse him. I had set a format in homework and the students should meet that criteria neither would they get punishment.
Class eight is the first class that I teach to the students in my so it needs some more days to habituate them in doing homework. All of the students have done homework in my subject neither should they face punishment. I checked two of the boys’ homework and one of them has done it in a normal way; whereas another boy has completed writing only but he hasn’t drawn boundary line; neither has underlined the fill up words.
Similarly, in class nine two of the students have copied the dialogue what they had done yesterday rather I asked them to do another one. I asked them two dialogues in the copy rather they claimed that they have done homework what I had given to them. However, I asked two dialogues of them as evidence. They couldn’t produce that so they have to stand up from their seat throughout the period.
My reflection is that the students have the right to claim what they haven’t done irrespective of their duty of doing homework. However, it is the duty of the teachers to check their homework thoroughly. The students claimed that they have done homework. If I didn’t check their homework, I wouldn’t know the reality. Some teachers just asked about the homework and they didn’t check it seriously and students have got chance to escape. Hence they would be back in their class.
I didn’t believe what the students say rather I want everything in action. I have always been warning them to complete their homework and they should have checked in the classroom. So I have been looking them promptly whether they are attentive or not. As a corollary, they would get good marks in the examination.

It is evident that teacher should be conscious to get the quality of the students in senior classes. The parents wouldn’t know everything like in junior classes. So the role of teacher is much important to make students do their homework and to check the competency in the classroom. As a teacher we shouldn’t neglect students; rather we should be laborious to check the students what they have done. We should make students aware time and again. If we have done it from our side the students wouldn’t feel bored in the class and they would do their work promptly. If we have taken it lightly, the students will be a great cheater and they do nothing at all.
