Suspicion
By: Prem Prasad Sigdel
It was morning time around 7.00am. Rajan woke up at around 5.30am and did some writing. He finished editing of one of the anecdote and wrote another anecdote related to Guru Purnima which was celebrated yesterday. He felt bored and thought to shave his beard. He prepared the machine with blade, a bottle of water, soap and went upstairs where there was bathroom and sink. The sink is out of the bathroom. He looked into the room of Ranjan.
Rajan: (chanting guru mantra) How are you bhanja (nephew)?
Rajnan: (in a half vest turning towards the kitchen table) Oh! Mama, its ok. How are you?
(Ranjan also came out of his room. He stood by just out of the door.)
(Rajan started to wash his face using soap at the sink)
Ranjan: (in a commanding voice) I slept late today. You woke up at 4.00am and what have you been doing? You don’t tell me the thing that you have done. Are you going to leave me alone? (laughing)
Rajan: (rubbing his face with soap). How do you know that I woke up at 4.00am? What’s the clue that you have got?
Ranjan: (sinking voice) I have got some message. Though I was sleeping I got the sense of my man that you woke up at 4.00am.
Ranjan entered into the room and Rajan was shaving. He got a cut on his neck. Its bleeding. Rajan left his water bottle, shaving machine, soap and mirror in his room. He used fitkiri on the cut it has been bleeding. He combs his hair parted from left to right. Then he went up to the roof, a open space in front of Ranjan’s room.
Rajnan: (negative expression) Ouch! You have cut on your neck and its bleeding.
Rajan: There was some mistake today. It’s still bleeding (walking around).
(they went into Ranjan’s room)
Rajan: (jokingly in colloquialism) Will you make a fist-full of tea?
Ranjan: I have already cooked meal. I am going to school just now.
(Ranjan started to boil tea. Rajan told him not to do that)
Rajan: If you have taken only you can neither I won’t take alone?
(started preparing tea)
Rajan: Please don’t do that I amn’t going to take it alone. If you have also taken, you can boil tea.
Ranjan: (jokingly) You can take it alone. I will prepare a fist-full of tea, mama.
(Ranjan actually wanted to express his suspicion towards Rajan that he is going to leave him. Ranjan asks Rajan to search for job.)
Ranjan: My brother told me that he is going to organize my marriage.
Rajan: (laughing). Its ok, then you are going to get wife soon.
Ranjan: (taking meal in a plate) Yes.
Rajan: I think your brother has thought that he has earned and support for you.
Ranjan: (roaring voice) I have taken nobody’s money to live in Kathmandu.

(They both parted to go for their respective job)
